Chapter 5 Eggs and Fruits Buyers.

"Kampong" eggs were sold to the usual collector.Initially Teddy had no regular eggs buyer he sold them to highest bidder. The same applied to his fruits. With this setup many problems cropped up,often ended up with no buyers coming in to buy those fruits already harvested and he had to send them to the buyers in town who never gave him a good pricing.

One day a bidder offered him an attractive contract he could not refused, but still he was undecided as he had to refer to her majesty The Female Boss. The new buyer,a very beautiful gorgeous lady offered him a fantastic price he could not resist, but unfortunately the Boss was not willing to sell her, all the farm produced.

Teddy had a difficult time trying to convince her clearly signifying that she was jealous and was afraid Teddy will fall for her.Through much persuasion she relented and agreed,in any case it was for her benefit. The woman after signing the contract celebrated a dinner with Teddy ,thanking him.She was so happy she planted a loving kiss on Teddy's cheek and bushing him with her huge boobs.

Teddy stunned ,blushed and shyly moved away from her in haste. With the contract signed all the farm produced were to be collected every week end.The chicken and the ducklings eggs were graded before d3elivery into varies grades. Thus Teddy had a big task ahead with this contract. The collecting contractor was busy on his tract so he must be very careful lest she angered Rosie and terminate the contract for good.

At the allotted time the contractor's pickup arrived followed by the female contractor in a different car.She was very particular about this first assignment and checked everything herself. She was also a tough customer as well and she was eying the young and handsome Teddy. Many a times she tried dating Teddy but he avoided her.Much to the amusements of workers overhearing her advances and teased him about it.

Every month end Teddy will also sell many of the fully grown chickens and ducklings. All these were also sold to the same contractor solely because she can offer a better pricing for them and also she was very prompt with her payments, that was the most important factor.

So Teddy sold nearly 500 birds each time. With all these income rolling in the farm was thus running at a profit,in fact a big profit margin. The Boss was definitely pleased with the performance.

Beside allowing some chickens to hatch their own eggs,Teddy also had incubators to hatch chickens as well as ducklings.Goose and Turkey eggs were also hatch at the hatchery making full use of his incubators. But the breeding of geese and turkeys were limited to s smaller scale.

Teddy had some other animals for sale as well. Those wild chickens captured were slaughtered and kept in freezers.Wild chickens can never survived in captivity and bred as ordinary fowls. Therefore they had to be slaughtered and preserved.
Part of these wild birds were for own consumption and the boss liked it very much.

There were the wild boars which at times were captured and also slaughtered and kept in the freezer.Trapped iguanas and foxes ("Musang")were caged in cages made specially to house them.So were the pythons. All these cannot be sold to any body but solely to wild lives collector. All were collected at regular intervals.

Squirrels and monkeys were blow-piped down by the native guard with his blow pipe. The monkeys were for his own consumption and the squirrels were sold to the dealer of exotic wild life food.Squirrels were also trapped with cages but such creatures cannot survived in captivity for they will crushed themselves at the cages to their death. These animal had to be slaughtered and stored in freezer before sales.

The collector for these wild lives came in once every two weeks for all those exotic wild lives. The dealer collecting these animals paid a very good price for them ,that was to ensure all available catches goes only to him.His business was partly legal and illegal, for there were existing permits for their hunting in their respective seasons.

Apparently there was a ready market for the python and iguanas skin, the meat eventually went to the restaurants.Meat of wild lives always had a steady market in city like Kuala Lumpur although not legal.

All these were extra income for the Boss,in fact that was the bonuses of the farm.
Teddy was also an enthusiastic birds lover for he also trapped many other birds beside while chickens. His cage for feeding chicken was an important asset in the farm.

As it was opened most of the time, other birds also joined in feed on the chicken feeds.Such "Mynas,Meroboks,Magpies",crow and even birds of prey like the hawk.Teddy was selective of his catches."Magpies ,Meroboks" and the hawks were captured. The crows and the "Mynas" were released.

The Hawk was of course for own consumption, the "Magpies", and the "Meroboks" were put in bird cages.Good singers of these birds were then slowly separated from the rest.Good singers can fetch a fantastic price and Teddy hanged them up displaying them at higher level. The rest were sold away to bird dealers.

Actually Teddy was enjoying a very wonderful life at the farm with so much to offer plus all these were of interests to him.In his mind he harbored a plan one day to own one similar farm like this, can he achieved it?.With that affectionately focus he can.

The Boss Rosie had also idea to expand her farm in which she tried to buy over adjacent old rubber land but was out bid by some others which made her extremely furious.Teddy had never seen her so angry,so mad was she that she did not come to the farm for more than a week.

Thereafter her temper calmed down as she came into the farm for the weekend.Coming with her was her friend Jennifer. She laughed heartily at the sight of the beautiful roses at the garden. So happy was she that she spent nearly half her day there selecting what she wanted to take home to decorate her garden.Teddy obliged by moving the pots for her.

He was sweating profusely, and she seeing that took her towel to help wiping his sweat on the face.Teddy felt shy and blushed."Why are you so shy, turning red all over. Can't I help you wiping your face?",she yielded."No,no thank you",he replied.Jennifer standing nearby also laughed saying,"Don't tease him, lah,Rosie. He is so frighten of you".That was a tiny joke for the day.

Then Jennifer whispered to Rosie,"Are you interested in him?He seem so cute a young man and handsome"."Shhhh....... I am married you know what?",replied Rosie."Married? so what can keep him, what?",replied Jennifer."You must be joking",she said."No,I am not joking, keep him as your boy friend, can what?",she asked.
"Not presently later maybe",replied Rosie.

So Rosie really loved Teddy and just waiting for the right time to make her move, but most important she never discourage him from eying and loving her.AS day by day go by Teddy fell for her the more.Another property at the back of the farm was put up for sales.Teddy was instructed to find out more about it.

For days he tried to seek out the owner of that property and he finally found her one day but she told him that it was never on sales although some mischievous broker had trued to induce her to part with that property. She was the sole owner and promised Teddy that should she changed her mind and had the motive to get rid of it he would be the one she would contact not those unscrupulous brokers. That made Teddy extremely happy as he related the matter to Rosie.

In the meantime Rosie advised him to hunt around for other nearby properties as well because she was very keen on further expanding her farm which Teddy readily agreed.

Chapter 4 The Farm Workers

Originally Teddy had five workers all males but having found them as sluggish in their performance, Teddy slowly switched on to employing female workers recruited from the nearby village. These rural women folks were very tough and worked hard, much stronger than most men.

Having them for some time he found them hard working and more reliable then the earlier batch of workers. However he also recruited an "Orang Asli" or native to act as watchman at night. This guard was armed with a shot gun and a blow pipe.

He was very skillful with his blowpipe. He was a threat to all the monkeys in that area, for seeing them he will surely shoot them down with his blow pipe.Of course the poisonous darts cannot bring down the monkey immediately but when poison was effecting it,it will fall down and be captured.

To them the monkey was very good source of food.To preserve its meat the monkey will be lightly burnt over a fire to rid it of all its hair covering its body.He had the patient to rotate the dead monkey at stake until all its hair were completely burnt off.

Then only will he opened up its stomach to remove its intestines and other organs without draining the bloody liquid within the monkey's body.Following he then poured the existing liquid in that monkey's body into a cup.Like to know what he does with that semi-bloody liquid? .He drank it himself of course, saying it was excellent health tonic for the body.
Yak?.

The meat of the monkey was then smoked over a slow fire until dry.Further he chopped the whole monkey into smaller pieces and re-smoked them. When dry he stock them up and saved it for any eventual rainy days when hunting was difficult. That was the "Orang Asli" watchman not only a good hunter but extremely reliable.People all around acknowledge his skill with the blow pipe.He was best of the best.

The first five female workers he had were extended to eight then to ten.He made one of them the leader or "kapala"or head. One of the tallest, robust, strong and very energetic woman. She proved to be trustworthy and can follow instructions strictly and her name was Ah Chan. All Teddy had to do was only to dedicate all the necessary chores that required immediate actions to her.Thereafter his job was only to overseer that his instructions were strictly adhered to.

Feeding of the chickens and other birds was done by one individual at regulated time only. The feeder's job was not only to feed but also take notes on the health and eating habits of all the birds.Should there be any problems with any of them immediately she had to report to the leader or to Teddy so that actions can be undertaken to rectify the position or condition of and infected chicks or so.

Eggs laid by the chickens and ducks were collected by another worker. Her job was not that simple as she had to clean the eggs first and no washing before storing or putting them for hatching by the chickens.Only selected eggs were chosen for hatching.Later Teddy acquired an incubator for hatching of eggs and months doubled it to two then to three for more chicks to be hatched.

Then there were the fruits pickers who were to collect all types of ripe fruits in the farm back to the store. Here three workers were allotted to perform that job.As they round the field they will also have to prune off all unwanted water shoots of fruits trees,no unnecessary pruning of branches were permitted.all pruning of branches must be done after getting permission only. All fruits collected back were undergo selection and nicely placed in boxes and ready for sales.Fruits should be sold only if the Boss had not required of them that week.

The balance of workers will go on weeding.Only manual weeding was done with a hoe or "parang"or knife.Very seldom weedicides were utilized to rid the farm of weeds for fear that those weedicides might harm the delicate rootings of durian trees.Durian trees were known to be extremely sensitive to chemicals.Noxious weeds were selectively dug of from the ground.

Treatment of diseased fruit trees were also done by these weeders. But most of the diseased fruit trees were dug up inclusive of all it existing roots.Collected and left to dry, then set on fire to be burnt away. The diseased areas were treated with dusting of lime.Weekly spraying of insecticides and fungicides were done by a small tractors, mist blowing by machine attached to the tractor.A female driver was taught to perform that job.

Normally Teddy will go round checking the workers work and to see that they were properly done. With so good a labour force Teddy had no problems what so ever. His capable assistant or "kapala"Ah Chan performed her job well.

Most of the time after work the work force will gather in front of his Office to report the progress they have made for the day and to inform him of anything that required immediate attentions. In his absence they will have to report to the "kapala".

He had a satisfied work force and they were also well paid. The attendance of his workers were very good and they also rested on Sundays and other holidays, leaving behind a skeleton workforce to do the important jobs that required immediate attentions only such as feeding the chickens and eggs collections.

His Boss was very pleased with his performance and each time she came to the farm she was always putting up a very happy with board smiles.
The Boss since he had surrendered the farm to his wife seldom came in to the farm since it was in excellent hands.

Each time the Boss Rosie wanted to go round that farm he insisted that Teddy followed her around. She was the Boss and Teddy had to follow her instructions,
without fail.As they go round the field she will make Teddy to stop wherever there were ripe fruits to be collected. Many a times her children also followed her.Her children loved the farm very much especially the boys who like to climb the fruit trees.

Some times Rosie would stay at the bungalow with her friends and family during the weekends.During the school holidays their stay would be extended.Teddy has recruited a cook as well to cook for him and also for the Boss whenever she came in for holidays. For a good cook he had endured many difficulties because excellent cooks were hard to come. With a capable "kapala",his task was made simpler as she knows the villagers well.

With much difficulties a young cook as engaged but only after a series of tests where she had to satisfy Teddy's taste first.Teddy had to be sure because the cook will also had to cook for the Boss whenever she comes to the farm.No marketing were necessary as the farm has all the meat and vegetables only rice, beverages and sugar had to be purchased.

Teddy also had different ideas on how to improve the farm to bring in more revenue with the mooting of turning the farm into an orchard where tourist can come in to have a taste of farm life. The idea was well accepted by all but not the Boss Rosie. She does not envy the idea of having total strangers on her farm therefore she was against that idea.More revenue does not interest her because she has the financial means to support the farm should in the events that it is not self sufficient.

In the mean time Teddy had done well in the maintenance of the farm, although not making much profit but it broke even,so not to worry so said Rosie.Well as long as the Boss wanted it that way so be it.Teddy was not mention it again. With that ended he was requested to keep her flower garden at the back of the bungalow growing and blooming. He was allowed to purchase all the materials and flowers he required to multiply that garden.

In that garden he also alloted a special gardener to look after them. Thus the garden grew and had the most collection of roses. There were also a good collection of orchids.Teddy also added many varieties of wild orchids into this garden.Very soon it was reputed to be one of the best around.

Each time the Boss came in she will definitely go into the rose garden to admire the roses flowering there.Pots with beautiful blooming flowers were collected to the front so she can take them back home when she was done with the rounding the farm. Each time she came to the farm she also brought back those pots where its flowers had faded away. She really loved roses especially those bearing very sweet blooming with beautiful colors and sweet sense of smell.

Due to her interests in roses Teddy never missed the point to improve his breeding of roses, very often looking every where for better flowering roses. So mach so he was quite an expert in roses cultivations.Whenever there were too many flowers he had the permission to sell them away, thus generating some profits. His orchids too was taking shape but orchids were slow to flower and they requires more care.Rosie too fancy them.

Chapter 3 Wild Fowls and others

One fine beautiful morning Teddy noticed wild fowls chasing his chickens.Wild chickens fetched a good price too.So he hatched out a plan to catch them, but trapping wild chickens were illegal.A permit is required for its capturing or shooting and there was a season for such hunting.

Nevertheless,Teddy ignored the above and planned to trap them. His feeding of chickens were always in a fenced area at regular hours but the wild fowls were good fliers and easily flew away from that cage.He improved that fencing to trap all those wild chickens. The enclosure was improved to 40'by 40'width.It was not only netting on all four sides but also on its top to prevent birds trapped within from escaping through the air.

Later he found that was not so secured sufficiently,so he reinforced the lower portion of fencing with strong gauged wire netting.By so doing even wild boars trapped in it cannot escaped.A trap door was placed at its entrance.By so doing all the existing chickens were only within that enclosure and feeding the birds at regular time.

Day after day Teddy fed the all the chickens within a suitable time and observed his enclosure closely. It took some time before the wild chickens dared to walk into that enclosure. These wild chicks were very smart and careful on the vigil at all time. They hesitated then when all were quiet and with no one around then they slowly sneaked into that enclosure to consume the food within.

Obviously they were also attracted by the hens and within this enclosure the hens had not much space to run and the wild cockerel easily caught up with them. Here love really proves to be fatal. By this method Teddy was able to trap many wild chickens, both male and females. However the small wild fowls and the chicks were released back into the wild. His chickens were also cross breed with the wild chickens, bearing stronger and more beautiful breeds of chicks.

In the night he was also able to trap other animals like foxes (Musang),and many a times especially during rainy nights Pythons.Huge pythons were also caught as they come during the darkness to steal chickens in chicken coup as well as those perching on the branches of the fruit trees.

For Teddy these were extra income for the Proprietor. The pythons sometime can be easily caught but at times it was very difficult. For this he enlisted the watchman who was an Asli (native) to assist him.Of course the asli was an expert in catching these reptiles.

Wild boars at times also wander around looking for food.Smelling feed within the enclosure these pigs just walked into it and were trapped.Mother pig with litters were always released while the others were captured and sold away.

Iguanas were the worst enemies of the farm for they sneaked in to steal chickens and such greedy feeders were easily trapped by using hooks with rotting meat as baits, and can be sold to animal traders for their meat and skin.

The hawks were also pests of the farm for they attacked the chickens and easily carried them away for food.Difficult to shoot or trapped them but fortunately the low branching of certain fruit trees protected chickens from being carried away.Human presence also deter them from attacking.

All these provided extra income for the Boss and in actual fact the farm was self sufficient despite many of the fruits trees were not matured. The Boss was always very pleased at Teddy's performance, especially the Boss Rosie.

With the farm running so efficiently the Boss was present weekly with her friends, staying in the new bungalow.Whenever they were there Teddy always prepared all their meals for them.He had a special worker who can prepare various types of chicken curries and many a time wild chicken curry.

At night he will make sure they enjoyed his barBque of chickens if not wild boar.As if insufficient he made sure all the Boss's friends can also packed some of these food home. Not only these ,available fruits and vegetables were also harvested and the best selected for them to take home as well. These made the Boss very very happy.

The farm was visited regularly by the Boss,as she was the sole owner of that farm all income from sales of birds and fruits were handed over to her.She of course was very pleased because the farm was not at a lost, despite her frequent visits.

At the rate it went Teddy's remunerations was increased. That encouraged Teddy to toiled harder for the farm. With the next few years the Boss brought another piece of land adjacent to this farm. However that was replanted with oil Palm.
Thus cutting down his cost to substantial the farm.

His relationship with the Boss was ever improving. He knows she was in love with him although she was still married and at least ten year older than him.He loved her that was what matters most, and no obstacles can stop him from loving her. When ever she was at the farm she always had kind words with him him and he seldom argued with her. Therefore relationship was always good.

Every thing he requested were fully granted, for example he complaint of the second jeep was meet with approval to purchase a new one.Reasonable because he now has extra duties in running the extra acreages of an Oil palm plantation although it was only fifty acres.

Should ever Rosie required any fruits from the farm he will obviously have them sent to her without fail.In any case her vehicle was always loaded with fruits whenever she visits the farm. Her charming smiles were always directed at him and he in return was always also admiring her gorgeous body. Many a times he wanted to hold her but refrained fearing that move will anger her.On the other hand too Rosie also wanted to hold him but was always reminded that she is married.

Two lovers eying each other but can hold each other.Well Teddy can wait but can Rosie as she is ten years older than him.Time will surely tell if she was made for him.It surely going to be a frustrating long wait.

There were times that Rosie's husband came to the farm. However he was always with some woman or his second wife.He presented himself at the bungalow but Teddy was reluctant to surrender the house keys to him.All his female friends also demanded to stay there for a day or so."Oh,what a lovely house,it be nice should we passed a night or so here",they were heard saying. But the Boss always answered saying that was not possible."Why are you so scared of her,she is no tigeress",they shouted.

"It is her house,I have given it to her.She would not allow any other females I bring stay here, and the man here has the right to chase us away",he told them."he is not doing it out of respect for me,so I cannot make his job difficult",he demanded.Following he would hurry them off after Teddy had supply him with a load of fruits.

There was at least once his second wife came in to the farm with a load of friends, hoping to stay there for a day or two.Teddy refused her the bungalow's keys.
At that she began to shout and making all sort of comments against him and Rosie, hoping those threats she made will convince Teddy to allow her to stay.

Seeing them so nasty Teddy wanted to give his Boss Rosie a call.Seeing that they lowered their voice so instead of calling Rosie he called her husband, then passed the phone over to her.The phone demanded her to leave immediately the farm but she tried to argue but forcibly had to leave. As she grumbled."Not fair, this farm belonged to my husband, but he was such a coward, so scared of her,he got no........".Teddy just smiled at that waved goodbye to her.

Later when Rosie came in,he kept her informed. In reply she said,"You did right, next time she comes in locked the front gate,to be opened until I come.We will see what she can shout about when I am here".Teddy marveled at her anger and now know that never offend any woman for that matter it could be fatal as he had heard. So Rosie when angry can be extremely nasty.

Rosie seeing his suspicion on her, asked,"What is the matter?Am I really that scary? Are you afraid of me?"."No,no,how can I? You are so lovely even when mad.Yeah you looked more attractive, too",replied Teddy."Sure?" she asked,"You are lying, just trying to make me happy,ha ha ha...".She laughed heartily as she was very happy her young admirer respected her and dare not talk against her.

She actually comes to the farm at least once a week, mostly with the company of a friend, and very often it was a lady called Susan, another attractive woman. She too had an eye for the good looking Teddy.Whenever she spoke to him,he blushed and shy to speak up,that made her to tease him the more.

He shy away from them but his roving eyes always directed at them especially their gorgeous bodies and fantastically large massive boobs. As time went by he was neurotic about their presence. No he was falling for both of them.
